Three people were killed and two others were injured in an accident between a truck and a taxi on the R101 between Polokwane and Mokopane in Limpopo on Sunday morning.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says two people from the taxi and the truck driver were declared dead at the scene.
He says a woman and a child, who were trapped inside the taxi, were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The woman sustained critical injuries and was placed on life support.
The cause of the accident is not known and local authorities are investigating.
