A Nigerian national is one of two people arrested for the murder of Limpopo government official, Marks Rambau.
Police said the first suspect to be arrested was a 24-year-old woman from Seshego who was arrested at a Polokwane hotel on Friday night.
“The second suspect, a Nigerian national aged 27, was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Sat) at about 04h00 at his rented house inFlora Park, Polokwane,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
He said police recovered the deceased’s two vehicles, a JeepWrangler and VW Polo at two different places in Polokwane.
Rambau, who was employed by the Limpopo Department of Transport, was killed at Flora Park on Tuesday.
“His partially burned body was found dumped next to the new PeterMokaba Stadium. The suspects then drove to the deceased’s house at Penina Park, Polokwane where they took his Jeep Wrangler and a TV set,” Mojapelo said.
The suspects will appear in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder, carjacking, housebreaking and theft and defeating the ends of Justice.
