Western Cape police are investigating a triple murder after the bodies of two women and a man were found in a canal in Kuilsrivier on Thursday.
Spokesperson Brigadier Novelo Potelwa says police were called to the crime scene at 6 am when passers-by noticed the bodies with gunshot wounds in the water.
She says several spent cartridges were discovered in the vicinity.
Brigadier Potelwa says police divers were called to the scene and retrieved the victims whose identities are not known at this stage.
She says a 72-hour activation plan has been launched to find the killers and identify the deceased.
Crime scene experts are currently on the scene to gather evidence.
