The Hawks has arrested another soldier for his alleged involvement in cross-border crimes for allegedly smuggling stolen vehicles across the border.
The 30-year-old soldier is the eighth to be arrested and is expected to appear in the Musina Magistrates Court on Thursday.
In June, the Hawks arrested seven soldiers in an undercover operation.
Three of them were from the Eastern Cape.
They are two Lance-Corporals and five Privates who were all stationed at the Beitbridge Border Post from 2017 to 2019.
They allegedly conspired with vehicle smuggling syndicates to smuggle stolen vehicles across the Limpopo River in exchange for money.
The soldiers would allegedly charge R15 000 per vehicle and would share the money amongst themselves.
The first seven accused are out on bail of R3 000 each and will be back in court on the 25th of October.
