The trial of Nicholas Ninow who is known to the public as the Dros Rapist is set to start in the North Gauteng High Court on Monday.
The 20-year-old Ninow is accused of raping a 7-year-old child in the men's bathroom of a Dros restaurant in Pretoria last year.
Ninow has been in custody for a year and first had to go to Weskoppies Psychiatric hospital where he was declared fit to stand trial.
He is also facing a charge of assault, defeating the ends of Justice, kidnapping and the possession of an illegal substance.
During a previous court appearance, Ninow's lawyer told the court that his client started abusing drugs at the age of 14 and that he was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder in 2013.
The trial has been set down for the 9th-20th of September.
