A fourth learner has died, following Friday's tragedy at Hoërskool Driehoek in Vanderbijlpark.
Netcare Union Hospital in Alberton confirmed that Marnus Nagel passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Nagel was admitted to the hospital, after sustaining critical injuries in the incident in which three learners lost their lives and more than 20 were left injured when a walkway connecting two buildings at the school collapsed on Friday.
Learners who sustained injuries are reported to have been transported to various hospitals in the Johannesburg area.
A number of them are reportedly in critical condition in ICU.
Roydon Olckers, Jandré Steyn and Marli Currie lost their lives on Friday after succumbing to their injuries.
The Gauteng Department of Education said the school would be closed until further notice for safety reasons.
