Three people were killed and 11 others were injured when a minibus taxi and a bakkie collided on the R53 outside Potchefstroom in North West yesterday afternoon.
ER24's Ineke van Huyssteen says paramedics found three people who had sustained fatal injuries and they were declared dead.
She says six others were critically injured, while five people sustained moderate injuries.
The injured were treated and stabilised at the scene before they were transported to hospital.
Van Huysteen says police were on the scene and are investigating the cause of the accident.
