Four suspects, aged between 25 and 46, have been arrested in connection with the murder of a couple in Bhamshela, northwest of Durban.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Brigadier Jay Naicker says they received reports on Thursday of a couple who went missing with their vehicle on Wednesday evening.
He says the vehicle was spotted a few kilometres from the couple’s residence.
Police gave chase as the occupants sped off, but the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
The suspects then fled into bushes.
Naicker says following a search for the victims, they were both found dead in the Wolongo Reserve.
They were allegedly shot and hit with a hammer.
After a thorough investigation, the suspects were arrested on Friday.
They were found in possession of a firearm, cash, and the victims' cellphones.
They will appear in court on Monday on two counts of murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and possession of suspected stolen property.
