A 33-year-old man has been arrested, after the bodies of three people were discovered at the weekend, in Wolseley in the Western Cape.
Police say members were alerted to suspicious activity in the Pine Valley informal settlement after the suspect was spotted dragging something after 11 o clock on Saturday night.
When they arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of a 20-year-old woman in a shallow grave.
The discovery led police to the suspect who resides in the same area.
Police were again called out to the same area on Sunday after another shallow grave was discovered in an open field by a passer-by.
They say the body of another woman, who is yet to be identified, was dug up, and a further search of the area led to the discovery of a third unidentified body, also in a shallow grave nearby.
Crime scene experts from the police including the K-9 unit, detectives and fingerprint experts were on the scene until late on Sunday afternoon. How the deceased persons died is part of a police investigation, and autopsies will be conducted on all the victims.
