A man who refused to wear a mask on his FlySafair flight over the weekend, was removed from the aircraft.
The flight was preparing for take-off from Johannesburg to Durban on Saturday when the man took off his mask and refused to put it back on.
The aircraft had been taxing already when it had to turn back to the terminal.
The male passenger was handed over to the police.
A spokesperson for FlySafair Kirby Gordon says the Airport has strict measures in place regarding masks and the passenger did wear his as he entered the airport and boarded the place.
He says it was only once he was seated on the Aircraft where he took it off.
Kirkby says just like smoking is a health hazard on aircraft so is the refusal of wearing masks.
He says FlySafair will not bend the rules for any passenger.
