Around 15 000 crocodiles escaped from the Rakwena Crocodile Farm into the Limpopo River during flooding in the past week.
A few thousand crocodiles have been recaptured in the dense bush next to the river and in the adjacent orange groves.
However, more than half of the reptiles are still at large.
The Crocodile farm's owners say they are recapturing the fearsome reptiles as local farmers inform them of the animals' whereabouts.
