The Hawks have arrested a 37-year-old man believed to linked to a cross-border vehicle smuggling syndicate.
Police spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, said the arrest was made as a result of an intelligence-driven operation on Friday at the Hendrick Verwoerd tunnel near Musina.
One suspect managed to evade arrest.
Maluleke said two vehicles which were stolen in Gauteng and en route to Zimbabwe were recovered during the operation.
The suspect is expected to appear at the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
