Two Eskom Managers have been suspended after the country was suddenly subjected to Stage 4 loadshedding for two days this week
The loadshedding was blamed on ten generation units which had suffered breakdowns at seven power plants.
Eskom's Group Chief Executive (GCE), Mr André de Ruyter, suspended the managers of Tutuka and Kendal power stations on Thursday pending a disciplinary inquiry.
Eskom says further interventions are ongoing at the Kriel and Duvha power stations.
The Board has subsequently deployed senior Generation Managers to the affected power stations to provide leadership and oversight.
The Board said in a statement on Friday that they are in full support of De Ruyter's actions and that the previous culture of weak consequence management will no longer be the norm and will no longer be tolerated at Eskom.
The country is currently on Stage 3 loadshedding until 10 pm on Friday.
