A motorist has been arrested for doing 228 kilometres an hour on the N-4 toll route, in Mpumalanga.

The provincial community safety department said he was caught on Friday.

Police said the man was charged with reckless and negligent driving, and detained at Ngodwana police station.

The motorists, who was driving a BMW sedan, is expected to appear in the Ngodwana Periodical Court on Tuesday.
