Six people have been killed and eight others injured following a collision between a taxi and truck on the R56 in Richmond, KwaZulu Natal.
A spokesperson for ER24 Russel Meiring says both vehicles were found on the side of the road with the entire one side of the taxi completely ripped open.
The wreckage was discovered at 3 am on Friday morning.
Meiring says when they arrived at the scene they found four women, a man and an infant, with multiple.
They were declared dead on the scene.
He says advanced life support interventions were provided to six others who sustained critical injuries, while another two sustained moderate injuries.
The details surrounding the accident are not yet know but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
