The Automobile Association (AA) believes the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) is using fear-mongering tactics to bully motorists into paying their E-toll bills.
This comes after weekend reports that Sanral would now block car licence renewals for motorists who still need to settle their E-toll debt.
The AA's Layton Beard says the blocking of licence disks cannot be done until Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula makes a pronouncement on the future of the user-pay system.
Mbalula is expected to make an announcement on the future of E-tolls by the end of the financial year.
