The SABC says it is shocked after its chief audit executive, Thami Zikode survived an assassination attempt.
It says Zikode was followed home from the SABC in Auckland Park, Johannesburg on Friday night after work, when unknown suspects fired shots at him.
The public broadcaster says he escaped unharmed and remains committed to ensuring good governance within the corporation.
The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
According to media reports, Zikode was believed to be working on a forensic investigation into fraud at the SABC.
The matter has been reported to the police for further investigation.
