Another doctor became the victim of crime at the Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein, when she was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday morning.
The incident happened just three days after the hospital made international headlines, when a female medical intern bit off most of a man's tongue, as he allegedly attempted to rape her while she was sleeping in one of the overnight staff quarters on Tuesday night.
The management of the hospital responded to the incident, saying they will not only beef up its security personnel, but also increase equipment for existing security.
The female doctor was robbed just after 5 am at gunpoint in the hospital's parking lot.
The suspects overpowered the security and fled the scene.
The incident was confirmed by Free State Health Department spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi.
He said the department would investigate the incident as soon as possible.
