South Africans will be waiting with bated breath for President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address on Monday night as the number of coronavirus infections rose to 402.
The Department of Health said that there are confirmed cases in all nine provinces now, with the Eastern Cape’s figure still at two.
“It is notable that the Northern Cape has its first confirmed cases,” said Minister Zweli Mkhize.
He said that his Ministry will provide “further details and explanations on the results, including the significant” increase after the President’s address.
Mkhize said their priority is for the provinces to be alerted of the new confirmed cases so that immediate contact can be made with these new patients and to ensure that tracing starts.
