A suspected robber was shot dead at a Spur outlet in Centurion last night following an attempted robbery.
Afriforum's head of Policy Ernst Roets, who was at the Spur with his family at the Lifestyle Centre took to Twitter last night to share his family's ordeal.
He says as they were about to leave a group of armed men entered and started to rob the place.
Roets says a shooting broke out and a suspect was shot dead by an off duty police officer.
He said the other suspects fled.
The Centre confirmed the incident on their Facebook page last night and said they would assist the police in any way they can.
The off duty police officer was reportedly dining at Spur and had his firearm with him.
Police have not yet released a statement.
