Gauteng's most wanted criminal has been shot and killed.
He'd been linked to eight cases including the murder of a police officer.
Brigadier Brenda Muridili says Mbuso Biyela was arrested on more than one occasion in both Gauteng and Kwazulu Natal but managed to escape from lawful custody
Late last month police offered a reward of R100 000 for anybody who could assist in finding him.
Brigadier Muridili says Biyela was traced to a village in Weenen in KwaZulu-Natal and specialised teams from Gauteng and KZN tactically approached the house where he was hiding.
She says he fired shots at police who retaliated and killed him.
No police officers were injured in the shooting.
