R5m perlemoen confiscated in Cape Town

A man has been arrested and perlemoen worth about R5m confiscated in Cape Town.

Western Cape police report that a police patrol pulled over an Isuzu bakkie which was being driven recklessly on the N2 highway yesterday.

Officers found 6-thousand 562 pieces of abalone in 44 bags under a blanket.
The 55-year-old driver was arrested and will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court soon.
