President confirms robbery at his farm in Limpopo in response to Fraser allegations

President Cyril Ramaphosa says there's no basis for the claims made against him by former spy boss Arthur Fraser.

Fraser is accusing the president of hiding a robbery at his Limpopo farm from the police and SARS.

It's alleged that $4 million dollars were stolen from the property, an incident that allegedly involved Ramaphosa's domestic helper.

Fraser alleges Ramaphosa paid the culprits to keep quiet about the incident.

He's opened a case of money laundering, defeating the ends of justice and kidnapping against the president.

The President has confirmed there was a robbery but denies any wrongdoing.

In a series of Tweets under the handle of the Presidency, the robbery was confirmed to have taken place on 9 February 2020 in which proceeds of the sale of game were stolen.

The President said he was attending an African Union Summit in Addis Ababa at the time and reported the incident to the head of the Presidential Protection Unit of the South African Police.
