SANParks has terminated its relationship with the CEO Fundisile Mketeni following sexual assault allegations levelled against him.
Fifty-four-year-old Mketeni's position was terminated following a decision by the Board.
Spokesperson Rey Thakhuli says during the disciplinary process he was found guilty on six of the seven charges levelled against him having breached the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Policy and the Disciplinary Policy and Procedure of SANParks.
In May last year, Mketeni appeared in court on charges of assault and sexual assault alongside two other suspects who worked for SANParks and a woman who was not an employee.
It is alleged that Mketeni and the complainant were at the Skukuza rest camp in Bushbuckridge on the 6th of May 2021 when the alleged assault took place.
According to news24, Mketeni was acquitted on charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm last year and the sexual assault charge was subsequently withdrawn.
