Western Cape police are searching for the gunmen who brazenly opened fire on a police vehicle, wounding two off-duty officers.
Captain FC van Wyk said the shooting occurred in Ikhwezi Park in Khayalitsha on Friday night.
He said the two Constables, aged 29 and 30, were on their way home when they were attacked.
“They were driving a marked police vehicle when they were at the traffic lights and their vehicle was shot at. Both members were injured and taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment,” he said.
Van Wyk said the 72-hour Activation Plan has been instituted to hunt down and arrest the suspects.
