A company in Hartbeespoort in the North West Province, renowned for its cutting-edge machinery, manufactured specifically for the mining industry in South Africa, has a new feather in its cap.
GST unveiled the continent's tallest Christmas tree at its head office earlier this month.
The tree, a dazzling spectacle, began as a bold project to construct the largest tree in South Africa to transcend all expectations.
GST, in a statement on its website, said they wanted the tree to be a symbol of hope, not just for the community but for the country and the continent at large.
The 'GST Beacon of Hope' is 38 meters high from the base to the top of its 3-meter-high Bethlehem star, it is decorated with over 5 000 meters of lights.
"This awe-inspiring creation marks a new chapter, symbolizing the potential and unity of South Africa and the African continent. As the glowing tree casts its radiant light, it serves as a reminder, illuminating hope in the hearts of our people. This monumental achievement stands not just as a celebration of the festive season but as a testament to the spirit that unites us all " reads the statement.
