Nine people have been arrested following the murder of a police officer in Ezakheni in KwaZulu-Natal.
Constable Thandekile Sikhakhane was shot and killed by assailants after giving two women a lift on Tuesday evening.
While dropping one of them at her home, the gunmen opened fire before Sikhakhane could draw her own weapon.
The suspects then stole her service pistol and robbed the two passengers of wallets and cellphones before fleeing.
The perpetrators were arrested after one of them was found in possession of Sikhakhane's firearm.
