Nine nuns have now succumbed to Covid-19 following an outbreak at a Catholic convent in Port Shepstone.
The sisters from the Daughters of St Francis of Assisi Convent died on Sunday and Monday after six of them passed away last week.
It is understood that the elderly women contracted the virus after a gathering was held at the church two weeks ago.
25 nuns have since tested positive for coronavirus, and gone into quarantine.
Sister Dominica Mkhize said they were deeply saddened, but added that Covid-19 safety protocols have been in place at the church since March.
