More than 20 people were killed in a multi-vehicle pile-up in Limpopo on Friday afternoon.
ER 24 said that when paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 16H00, they found numerous services in attendance.
"Upon further assessment, paramedics found multiple vehicles and a truck spread across the stretch of road. More than 20 people have been killed and multiple others sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious," said spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen.
She said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known but authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
