Six striking mine workers have been arrested, after looting a bottlestore near the Impala Platinum mine in Rustenburg, North West.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane, says about 3000 striking workers went on the rampage on Friday, targeting a bottlestore near the compound.
He says the group's intention was to march to the home of the king of the Royal Bafokeng nation, Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi, to hand over a memorandum.
Molotlegi has shares in Impala Platinum.
Ngubane says police will monitor Rustenburg throughout the weekend.
