A message in a bottle dropped in the Atlantic by a submarine captain more than two years ago, has washed up on a beach at Pringle Bay in the Western Cape.
The captain of the SAS Charlotte Maxeke, Commodore Darren White, told the Cape Times that his crew tossed the bottle into the sea, some 1 600 nautical miles offshore.
It was found by a man and his son over the weekend.
The bottle contained a typed message and a picture of the crew from the captain and crew of the South African submarine.
