Polokwane police have launched a manhunt after the bodies of a local businesswoman and her 70-year-old mother, were found in their abandoned car on Thursday night.
Police said a neighbour raised the alarm when he went to visit 55-year-old Lizette Deacon and her mother, Hettie early in the evening.
"It is alleged that the victims' neighbour went to visit them just after 18h00 last night but was shocked when he found blood traces in the house and the occupants missing," said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
"The police were called and a search operation was immediately launched. The bodies of the deceased were found with several stab wounds, tied inside their motor vehicle," he said.
Mojapelo said the motive for the killings is unknown at this stage but robbery cannot be ruled out.
