A man has died, and his wife was seriously injured, when they were attacked in their tent at a dam near Fochville, southwest of Johannesburg where they had been fishing.
ER24's Werner Vermaak says paramedics arrived at the scene late on Saturday evening, where they found a man, believed to be 68-years old, with multiple injuries.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Vermaak says a woman, believed to be 60 years old, was found with various injuries and severely traumatised.
He says it is understood that the couple spent the evening in a tent next to the dam where they were fishing during the day.
No arrests have yet been made, and police are investigating.
