A man has lost his life after his car plunged into a swimming pool at a home in Westville in Durban.
According to reports, residents found the car lying on its roof and submerged in the water shortly after 6 am on Wednesday.
Redline Response's Derrick Banks says medics were called to the property along Baden Road.
"Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the vehicle submerged under water. At the time, it was unclear if there was anybody still inside the vehicle as there was no accessibility to get in. "Metro police search and rescue and SAPS were called to the scene to help assist. It is now believed the male believed to be in his early 40s succumbed to his injures as he was found in the vehicle."
The circumstances surrounding the crash will be investigated.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
