Man in custody for allegedly digging up his father's grave

A man from Vrygburg in North West is in police custody after he allegedly dug up his father's grave.

Spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone says the 28-year-old Fikile Modukanale was arrested at the Government's offices in town over the weekend after police received info about a man who has human remains.

Brigadier Mokgwabone says police searched his luggage and found human bones hidden in two bags.

Modukanale allegedly dug up his father's grave at the Moshawane Village and took his remains.

Police will now conduct a forensic test to confirm who the bones belong to.

The accused is being charged for violating a grave.

He remains in custody and must be back in court on the 22nd of July 2020.
