Eskom says it does not plan to impose load shedding for the rest of the week after managing to return four generation units to service.
The gains brought the embattled power utility’s available capacity to 34 000 Mega Watt the highest it has been so far this year.
Eskom also announced it has now managed to replenish its emergency reserves.
It warns, however, the system remains unpredictable and unreliable.
Rotational blackouts returned last week as plant units in various provinces went down, overwhelming a system that is under increased pressure because of cold winter weather and the resumption of most economic activity since last month.
