A 22-year-old man who was allegedly selling fake permits to business owners who do not form part of essential services has been arrested in Gauteng.
A police spokesperson Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu says it is alleged that this man, who lives in Olivenhoutbosch in Centurion, would sell permits for R300 a piece to
business owners who do not form part of essential services.
The Hawks were alerted and set up a sting operation where a member pretended to be looking for a permit.
The suspect took the bait and met with the undercover policeman who paid R300 for his fake permit.
Captain Mulamu says he was arrested on the spot and a laptop and other documents were seized.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
