A 23-year-old foreign National will appear in the Prince Albert Magistrates court tomorrow after being arrested on Friday by the stock theft unit.
The man will be charged for being in possession of wildlife without the necessary documentation.
Police Spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says the man had 21 scorpions, two spiders and several earwigs (oorkruipers) in his closet.
He says they were all in plastic buckets and still alive.
The animals and insects were seized and handed over to nature conservation.
Scorpions are considered animals even though they are 'related' to spiders.
Scorpions have eight legs while other insects have six.
