A 54-year-old man accused of killing a person living in his complex in Pretoria North has been denied bail.
Leon Coetzee is accused of stabbing Themba Thabete following an altercation over a Whatsapp message.
NPA spokesperson, Lumka Mahanjana says the complex had a Whatsapp group for all the residents but it is alleged that all the white tenants started a group of their own.
She says it is alleged that someone communicated in the "white" group calling the black tenants pigs and also accused Thabethe of being a corrupt individual.
Mahanjana says the message was leaked to Thabethe.
On the 26th of April when Thabethe returned from work, he went to Coetzee's house where he confronted his wife about the message.
It is alleged that Coetzee came out of his house with a knife and stabbed Thabete, who died a few days later in hospital.
The matter was postponed to the 20th of July for further investigation.
