A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon after he allegedly shot and killed his wife in a shopping centre parking lot.
Provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the body of the 32-year-old woman was found inside a car on Thursday afternoon.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that the deceased, who is believed to be from Seshego Township, was together with an unidentified man in the vehicle when her husband arrived.
Mojapelo says there was an argument and the husband took out a firearm and shot the woman several times. She died instantly.
The man in the vehicle fled from the scene and his identity is still part of the investigation.
Police are in possession of the weapon while the motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
