A Grade 9 learner from Hoërskool Ben Vorster in Tzaneen has been outed on social media for his racist utterings by using the "k" word.
The learner, whose identity cannot be revealed due to the fact that he is a minor, was trending on Wednesday morning with members of the EFF paying a visit to his school.
In a now-viral video seen by over a million people, the child and a female friend can be seen joining a live TikTok of YouTuber Sonwabile aka "The Rizzly Bear" calling him an EFF "k*****" before laughing and exiting the live broadcast.
The EFF Limpopo leadership, led by the Provincial Treasurer Fighter Tinyiko Manganyi engaged in a meeting with school management.
Meanwhile, the school's governing body on Wednesday said it had launched an investigation into the matter.
SGB chairperson Eddie Vorster said in a statement that they strongly condemned the incident.
He said even though the live broadcast took place after school hours, it was in complete contrast with the school's values.
Vorster said the Limpopo Department of Education had been informed and that a meeting with the learner and his parents has also already taken place.
He said irrespective of the outcome of the probe, programmes will be developed to inform learners of the various aspects of the school's ethical code of conduct.
"As with all sanctions against learners in a disciplinary context, any potential sanctions in this case will be based on the duty to educate.
"In other words," Vorster said, "not only punishment but positive behavioural change."
South African Springbok player Trevor Nyakane matriculated from Hoërskool Ben Vorster where he played for the first team for two years.
