A 31-year-old woman arrested in connection with the disappearance of six-year-old Joslin Smith in the Western Cape has been remanded in custody.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says Lourentia Lombaard appeared at the Vredenburg Magistrates Court on Monday.
Spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, says she was charged with trafficking in persons for exploitation and kidnapping.
He says the matter was postponed to next Monday.
Joslin's 32-year-old mother Kelly Chantel Smith, her 31-year-old boyfriend Jacques Appolis, and a third suspect, 27-year-old Steveno van Rhyn are already in custody and abandoned their bids for bail.
They are facing charges of kidnapping and human trafficking. Charges against a fourth woman were withdrawn earlier this month.
The case against the trio was postponed to the 13th of May.
The search for Joslin continues.
