A man who robbed a house in a suburb in Johannesburg was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday.
The 42-year-old Sipho Sibisi and his accomplices broke into a house in Kibler Park on the 28th of September 2017.
Police Spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele says the three men broke a door in the house at midnight where they found a 24-year-old female fast asleep.
The men woke her up and threw a carpet over her, while they ransacked her house.
Sibisi and his friends managed to steal a television, cellphone and music system, before fleeing the scene in a blue Toyota Corrola.
Mbele says a vigilant community member managed to write down the registration number which led police to a house in Soweto where the stolen music system was recovered.
Sibisi's one accomplice, who was also arrested, received a 17-year-prison sentence.
