Five people, including a baby, dies in Gauteng house fire

Five people, including three children, died when their house in Meyerton, Gauteng caught alight.

Spokesperson for ER24 Russel Meiring says when paramedics arrived on the scene on Monday night, firefighters had already been battling the blaze for some time.

Three patients were retrieved from the house while it was still on fire but they were already dead.

Meiring says the youngest victim was a 6-month-old baby.

All victims were declared dead on the scene.

The cause of the blaze will no be investigated by police.
