The family of well-known South African singer Arno Carstens has confirmed the death of his brother's long-time partner during a mugging attempt in Cape Town on Tuesday evening.
47-year-old Dawnsy Mieny of Jeffrey's Bay was on her way to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers concert with her daughter Jasmin when they were mugged in Bo-Kaap.
Mieny died after falling down a quarry while her daughter was also injured in the incident.
The Carstens family told OFM news that Mieny, who was a product manager for Billabong, had traveled from Jeffrey's Bay to Cape Town to visit her daughter.
She was dating Arno Carstens brother Johan Carstens.
