A Red Hot Chili Peppers fan was killed in Cape Town’s CBD on Tuesday night after apparently being attacked while on her way to the concert.
The 47-year-old woman and her 26-year-old daughter were walking to the show at about 6pm when they decided to take a short cut through the Bo-Kaap.
The police's Andre Traut told News24 that a suspect tried to grab the mother’s handbag.
In the ensuing scuffle, the mother fell down a quarry.
Her daughter has apparently been hospitalised.
Traut said the suspect fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
