Police have launched a manhunt for the killer or killers of the Station Commander of Groblersdal, Colonel Lebyane Jeffrey Seroka, aged 57.

Spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, said he was shot and killed by an unknown assailant or assailants in front of his house at Mmaganagobuswa village at about 04h30 on Saturday morning.

“The suspect(s) thereafter took the member’s motor vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux, and fled from the scene. The vehicle was later found abandoned along the Denilton-Maklerekeng road,” he said.

Mojapelo said preliminary Seroka left his home early to attend a funeral when he was gunned down in front of his gate.

“The motive for this killing is unknown at this but police investigations are continuing.  A team of investigators has already been assembled to hunt down the killer(s),” he added.
