Five men in their 30's are believed to have drowned after their boat capsized on the Vaal River near Spider Valley Road late on Saturday afternoon.
ER24's Ross Campbell says a man and a woman, also believed to be in their 30's, survived with minor injuries.
He says paramedics arrived at the scene just before 6 pm.
The two survivors declined transportation to the hospital.
Campbell says the man explained that the boat was taking on water when it capsized.
He said one body had been recovered but four were still missing.
Police divers were at the scene as the search continued for the remaining men.
