Police in Midrand have arrested the girlfriend of a man in custody for the possession of over ten million child pornography images.
The 25-year-old woman, a web designer by profession, was apprehended in Houghton on Thursday.
She, too, faces charges of possession of child pornography and money laundering.
The woman will appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday.
Her boyfriend, 35-year-old Darren Wilken, will make his second court appearance the following day.
Spokepserson for the NPA, Phindi Mjonondwane, says Wilken faces multiple charges, including that he hosted and distributed child pornography worldwide for financial gain.
He was arrested at his home earlier this month after International authorities alerted SAPS about his alleged activities, including allegations of money laundering.
Wilken faces multiple counts of possession, creation and distribution of child pornography, the Contravention of the Drug Trafficking Act, acquisition, possession/use of the proceeds of unlawful activities, possession of stolen property, and fraud.
