Motorists can expect some relief at the pumps from midnight on Tuesday after the Department of Energy announced a drop in fuel prices for June.
Both grades of petrol will decrease by R1.24c per litre, while diesel will decrease by R1.08c and R1.18c per litre and illuminating paraffin by R1.07c per litre.
LP gas will go down by R1.35c per kilogram.
“The main reasons for this adjustment are the lower oil prices and stronger rand against the dollar during the period under review, the lower prices of propane and butane, which reduced the prices of LP gas and the state levy decreased by 17.54c per litre in the prices structures of petrol and diesel," said Robert Maake, spokesperson for the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy.
